Supplier of a hazardous substance or hazardous preparation are required to provide to commercial customers information about their products in the form of a safety data sheets.

 

This information is used to identify possible hazards to humans and the environment for the application, processing, transport and disposal. The exchange format EDAS is a common format that is based on the XML standard. With this format, the content of the safety data sheet acc. Article 31 and Annex II (REACH) can be in a structured form electronically transmitted.
